Patricia Lake, near Jasper, has (at least two) very different personalities. Visit it in the mid-afternoon and it's pleasant, but nothing special. Go back early the next morning as the sun is rising, and it's a completely different scene.
Photographer Darwin Wiggett's absolutely stunning photos of this lake inspired me to make my own attempt. It doesn't even begin to compare to his. But it reminds me of what a beautiful, peaceful place it was. I can't imagine a better spot to be in the early hours of the morning. Apparently, other people agreed - there were two vehicles illegally camped on the lake shore when I got there, and I was soon joined by another photographer.
