Stateway Gardens was part of the State Street Corridor, a more than 2-mile long route of public housing cutting through the city's South Side, right next to the Dan Ryan Expressway. Stateway was located just south of the Illinois Institute of Technology campus and just east of Comiskey Park, home of the Chicago White Sox. The projects were demolished in the late 2000s.
