Huge sea stack, tiny people

Canon Beach, Oregon

Haystack Rock is located at Canon Beach, Oregon. This massive rock is the result of volcanic
action in the area 10 to 17 million years ago. Continuous erosion of the headlands over the last
10,000 years carved away the shore and left Haystack Rock, a hard volcanic basalt, as a towering
monolith that now rises 235 feet above sea level.
