These are images from Anzac Day in Perth, Western Australia. The first images are from the Dawn Service in Kings Park, at the 'Pool of Contemplation', which commenced at 0600. This means a very early start, for me 0430. The following images are from the Anzac Day march, through the Perth CBD.
I've had a request for an explantion of what 'Anzac Day' is, here's the text of an explanation I placed in an online forum:
ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corp and Anzac Day this year remembers the 90th anniversary of the beach landing (attack) at the now named Anzac Cove in Gallipoli in Turkey. Not wanting to belittle anything, Think 'Saving Private Ryan' if you're American and 'D-Day' if European.
Now, that was all from memory, so, Aussies or Kiwis, please forgive me if I've misphrased anything!
