Well, I didn't plan on going to Fiji. The plan was to fly straight to Vancouver out of Nadi on Friday evening.

Checking for my next flight in Nadi, the attendant checked through my new passport, then my old one, then his computer and then turned to me quizzically, asking where my US visa was....

"But I am not going to the US"
"This flight stops in Honolulu on it's way to Vancounver"
"Ummm... Fuck.... So what must I do?"
"Go to Suva and get a visa from the American Embassy"
"Ummm... Where is Suva?"
"On the other side of the Island"
"What is this Island?"
"Viti Levu, good luck!"

Armed with this info, and a free weekend (Embassies don't open on weekends...) I made the best of my stay and befriended some awesome locals!
