The programme said, a trifle vaguely, Countryside North of Carmarthen. So a mystery treat awaited us as we set off from the Bronwydd Cricket Club car park for 11 miles of fairly strenuous climbs through wooded valleys, over hills, through farmland, all in glorious August weather. Sadly I forgot my camera (well, it got as far as the boot of my car!) so I just took a few snaps with my mobile. The route encompassed Carmarthen Golf Course (very friendly golfers there:, the village of Newchurch, some delightful country odours and their producers, and blackberry lovers were in their element!
