Gail led us on a wonderful circular walk through forests and by streams to Nant Blaencyneiron reservoir and on up into the hills, passing all manner of wildlife on the way, including miniature frogs, butterflies, deer and a dragonfly. Beautiful day with lots of good company.
Pretty forest
Scary post!
We're in a very dangerous place, it seems

Waterfall
Giant steps
So many greens
The chaps take the lead for a while
Climb up to the reservoir
Dramatic trees
It's getting steeper
Pause to photograph a nibbled toadstool
Splendid colour
First view of the reservoir, at our coffee stop

Such a big climb for a small frog
Have we lost anyone?

Lynne's sweet chestnut tree
Looks like those trees are holding up the path!
There were obstacles
People round the bend
Almost at the summit
Contrasting clouds
They've spotted us
And they're off
And down again towards Bryn

Is it a leaf?
No, it's a Red Admiral
Sunning itself
Rosa rugosa
The Royal Oak garden, Bryn
Really?!?
Lovely ornate signpost
Super size berries
Row of rowans
Another bit of wildlife flew in and posed
It's a Golden-ringed dragonfly (Cordulegaster boltonii)!
