A7II Testing (Full resolution for evaluation - large files)
Test photos aren't really intended to be interesting.. just personal testing of focus modes, exposure adjustments, in-camera jpeg processing, etc.. I literally walk around and shoot anything that catches my eye, sometimes they are interesting, most times not.
Surprising sharpness from 24mp. Broad adjustment range of colors, though not true to color in raw. More dynamic range than many competitors, though far too much noise above ISO400. Not to mention, as someone who has shot Canon and Nikon for 47yrs, the Sony bodies are uncomfortable to hold and non-ergonomic. Many Buttons, and configurability, but no matter what I set them to they still feel they are in the wrong place. Autofocus is also inconsistent. It should be impossible for a mirrorless to front or back focus, but this did, a lot, requiring duplicate/triplicate shots for almost everything to assure you could get the shot you wanted. The A7II specifically is great for what it is, and innovative, but not ready for primetime. The A7III is where this 'entry' series became viable. (I believe all the images in this folder are with adapted lenses - these were not the lenses I evaluated the autofocus with however..)
