Huge wave at Lyman's in Kona, HI this past January, 2005. He rode it all the way in from the point to just before the shorebreak, where he got one last cutback in. The wave was still 6' at this point. Most of my surf shots have ocean in the background. For this one I shot from the point of the bay , following him in towards the shore, giving the unusual background. Handheld at 400mm with the 80-400 OS lens, ISO400, barely perceptible noise in orginal file.
