Teams worked day and night for three days to carve sculptures from a 6’x6’x10’ block of granite-like, compacted, man-made snow. During the competition, temperatures hovered a few degrees above and below 0°F. Several teams withdrew for “medical” reasons. I suspect the cause was the deep cold.
