The Pond in down town Reykjavik (Tjörnin) used to be a tremenduosly popular place for ice skating on good winter days some 20-30 years ago. But times change, with new venues in the outskirts of town and the new population areas moving further away, there are relatively very few people using this facility now. And perhaps ice skating is not as popular as it used to be. But one can usually find some people there on good days like this one.
