Ok, so this image is pretty heavily manipulated. First it was adjusted in SPP, then in photoshop I again adjusted the levels, curves, tweaked the color balance to bring up the purple in the hose, then ran the whole mess through Neat Image. Also, applied a little USM.

Why? Because this is a very "edgy" image. The levels adjustments and color corrections I made were rather harsh, and I felt the image needed some smoothing afterward. This is an abstract piece, I don't give two hoots about it looking "real"... that wasn't the goal.
