Mouse Fibroblasts. Photoshop merge of BODIPY phallacidin, mitotracker, DAPI fluorescence. Zeiss 63X planAPO, 1.4x teleconverter.

This image was created in Photoshop 7, by merging the three individual fluorescence images that had been taken in rapid succession with different filters in the microscope. The blue and red layers were placed on top of the green layer. The green layer was allowed to remain 100% opaque, and both red and blue layers were transformed with the screen option for transparent placement on top of the green layer. Only minor adjustments were made to saturation, brightness and contrast in each layer before merging the stack into a single image. Then, I adjusted brightness and contrast of the entire merged image.

Cool picture!

This might be a new way of doing art prints.

At FSU they sell ties based upon molecular imagery.
