This picture is really cool - from the thumbnail its really apocalyptic - like an old decaying man laid out on raft. The way the trunk forms the shoulder down to the resting arm over the side is a really strong image. Even the sunken chest is very visible leading to the right leg cast over the far side - probably wouldn't have been seen from even the smallest difference in angle. You can imagine the branch protruding from under the ribs towards the bottom left of the picture as the spear to slay him. Like something from a classical dark horror.
