The Icelandic horse, or pony, is said to be related to a certain Norwegian horse which is related to a Mongolian horse.
In the winter it takes on a thick winter coat which makes it possible for it to stay outside during winter. And in the spring it sheads the winter coat and then it has a coat with much shorter hair.
