This is the old bridge over Hvítá (meaning white river in english). This used to be part of our main highway around Iceland, but in 1973 there was a new bridge built near to Borgarnes so they moved the main highway there.
This bridge is still in use but today it´s only local trafic (and only small cars) that goes over it.
