So the other day I managed to get invited to a human suspension. I've always been curious about this but have never been able to find out about one and to be able to bring my camera and shoot one was just all gravy. The event was put on by Jason Shaw who was nice enough to answer all my questions and let me get in the way. I will say they were all very carefull about sterilization. Everything gets wiped down to prevent infection and they had a paramedic on hand to boot. In this gallery you will see three suspensions. A lotus, a crucifixion and a suicide. Length of time in the air depended on the person.
I want to thank Jason Shaw for inviting me and Lance Kellar of Lance Kellar studios in Chesterfield, Mi. for not only having the event but allowing me to attend I'd also like to add that while I had no intentions of trying it myself, after watching it my curiosity has been peeked and who knows maybe next time....

Now that this gallery is done I want to say a couple of things. First it doesn't matter if you're into this or not. What I've attempted to do was just show what these people do for many different reasons. You don't have to be into it, they aren't asking you to do it. Second while it looks painfull If you look close at the faces you'll notice how peacefull the facial expressions are. Third everybody that was there were not only friendly and open with me but took time to explain what was going on and answer any questions I had no matter how stupid or unenlightened they may have been.
