Today My Little Dog Died

As I write this, my heart aches for the loss of my very best friend.
It was sudden... very unexpected.

You see... my husband took her to the vet's to get her nails trimmed but this time she did not come home.
Something happened... "a cardiac arrest" is what they said. Did they hold her too tightly? Should she have been mildly sedated? Did she panic and struggle? Did she have a respiratory arrest or a heart arrhythmia? I will never have the answers to these questions.
It was a senseless loss of life. And there is no going back. She did not deserve to die this way.

She is gone and never to return to my arms again. I will never again be able to kiss her, and hold her and tell her she's the best. There will always be an emptiness in my heart. She really was my best friend and I write this and post her photo in remembrance of Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers... to honor her short life and to help me deal with my overwhelming grief.

Oh.....Fay, I just found this section. I know it has been several months since Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers died, but I want to say how sorry I am for your loss. I know how much you love your doggies.....and I do understand how much it hurts to lose them. I absolutely love the names you give them! Matt and Sarah had to put Stringbean to sleep a couple of years ago ( he was very territorial, and inadvertently nipped Nathan )....we were all very upset that it had to be done, and that was a conscious decision....I just can't imagine your grief when Dick had to tell you what happened....... I'm so very, very sorry for your loss. It's so difficult when you know you're going to have to have them put to sleep; the suddenness of this is heartbreaking. I hope you find peace in the coming weeks, and may she be patiently waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh no. I am so very, very sorry Fay. I can understand completely how you feel. THis is just such sad news. I am glad you created this tribute to her. It helps a little, but of course you will miss her unbearably. My condolences.

I am so sorry... I can feel your grief... the animals give us so much of their love, and really you dont know if it was a violated death... so your husband was not let in to see how it went... this situation of not knowing how it happened is most hard... plase be strong, she was a beautiful part of yor family...

I had a black male pug. His bottom teeth stuck out the same way and was SO cute. I miss my Mack so much. I am so sorry for your lose.

Dear Fay, I'm so sorry for your loss, and can't begin to wonder what life will be like without our "girls". Take comfort in knowing that when Bailey took her last breath on Earth, it was followed by her first breath in doggie Heaven!

So sorry for your loss, I too understand the pain. I lost my dog in March. Remember that your furry friend will always be with you Just talk to him/her when you need to. Your dog will be listening and don't forget to use the sense of smell and take a favorite toy or cover and sniff it when needed It does bring you back to fond memories. You will some day see him again in the future and have a Joyous reunion. God Bless

Bailey looks like a wonderful little dog, certainly well-loved. I feel your pain, as those who have never themselves been through such a tragedy do not understand how horrid it is. I'm so sorry for your loss. Cherish your memories, as they are a great comfort to you. You will always love Ms. Bailey.

Fay, I lost my best Fur friend in July 08, whilst I was working overseas, cried my heart out for 2 days, couldn't go to work. She was 14 1/2 had her since she was 6 weeks old. The last time I was home in Australia on break she came up to me at the door before I left to return to Bulgaria and pawed my legs and just wanted more hugs and cuddles, normally she wouldn't do this , she would sit in the corner and sulk. I miss her every day and in her memory I wear her paw print tattooed on my chest and 4 paw prints on my right foot as that was where she always walked with me, and still does every day.

Fay, As a dog parent , who lost our oldest a month ago to illness and old age.Be brave ,yes your heart misses her as we do our girl,but she is with you in your heart always-and is playing in a safe place waiting for you.It's called Rainbow Bridge,where our loved pets wait for us to join them for all eternity.SO Ms.Bailey Bentwhiskers is going to be in your arms agian... Fay I understand your pain and would like you to have a special poem I wrote after my loss of a beloved friend...Pets Animals are precious and we'll never forget the friendship they gave us as a loyal and loving pet. They come into your life some healthy and some not, no matter their condition we'll give them all we got. They're happy they're a part of your life through gray clouds or blue skies, you know they love you deeply, you can see it in their eyes. Oh Fay, I am so VERY VERY sorry for your terrible loss, I really do not know what to say, I understand your heartache, I felt much the same when my wonderful big cat Ziggy passed at just 5 yrs, last October, I still cry when we mention his name in the house. Oh Fay, my heart aches for you right now. I am so sorry to read about the loss of the love of your life. How old was Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers? Be strong for Barnum. He is going to need your strength at this time because he too lost his best girl. I wish that I could give you a big hug across the miles. Try to remember the good times; it will help you through this difficult time.
