In an effort to celebrate Creativity Day, I decided to photograph this beautiful Kalanchoe
that my daughter Molly and grandchildren Lucas and Alaina gave to us for Grandparents' Day.
But how to do it? I looked around the house and my eyes landed on the painting on a small chest in the corner of the room.
And then came the creativity.
I placed the plant on top of an old black crock-like jug and it put the plant at the perfect height. But it was very dark there. How would I light it?
I then took a small LED flashlight and aimed it in the direction. That would work, but how would I support it?
So I set the flashlight on the dining area table and rolled a cloth placement partially beneath it to achieve the angle of light, and then I started shooting.
With a bit of editing in LR and framing and text in Ribbet... this is the final image.
Thank you so much for the beautiful plant and for sparking my creativity to get this photo!
