Today, March 8, 2015 is International Women's Day.
I took this photo of my grand-daughter, Alaina, when she was seven years old and then played around with her image.
I liked this graphic image because I could see my silhouetted reflection in her eye as I took the photograph.
It was yesterday that I revisited that photo and felt it appropriate to celebrate International Women's Day.
The day was first observed back in 1909 to celebrate women's social, economic and political achievements around the world while calling for greater equality.
And then in 2014... these words from teen activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai:
"I raise up my voice - not so that I can shout, but so that those without a voice can be heard."
The theme this year is... Make It Happen
