Yes... Dallas has been in the news recently when Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas admitted a patient who had recently traveled from Liberia to Dallas and then became ill.
He was initially sent home from the emergency room with an antibiotic but returned and found to have ebola and was isolated.
He is in critical condition and on life support and is receiving an experimental drug in hopes that it will help him.
There were about 40 people who he had contact with in this country and testing continues but as of yet, no one else has fallen ill with the disease.
It is all so frightening as it is a deadly disease spread by body fluids. Anyone in the healthcare field must be familiar with isolation techniques.
With ebola, it is necessary to wear not only gown and gloves but also boots and a hood for protection.
I just read that these items are in short supply and that in itself is worrisome.
My friend Lucy is modeling the latest in isolation gear. Actually, it looks quite fashionable on her!
