A message to my grandbabies...

Once upon a time many years ago... Lala and Grand-pere fell in love with a land far far away.
A land of hills and valleys, of little villages with markets that sell wonderful breads and sausages, fruits and vegetables, and armloads of flowers.
Vineyards abound and it is here that we will find the most delicious of cheeses perfect for a French picnic.

The language is the language of love, and though we understand only a few words and phrases we have been shown the good will of the people.

We love to walk the cobbled streets and marvel at the beautiful old buildings. We love to stand by the sea and feel the wind in our faces.
We love how the French take the time to enjoy the simple things in life and share them with friends and family.

We hope that someday you too might visit and walk the same paths that we have walked so that you can understand that this is so much more than just a place to visit... this is truly a French love affair...

What a beautiful part of France. We lived in Paris for a year when I was sixteen, and it was a memorable experience. Thanks for sharing your views and memories. Voted.
