OK... I guess you know by now that I am hooked on chili cookoffs.
A cheap day out, some good eats and another photo-op.
It doesn't take much to keep this chili-head happy, so join me at the White Rock Local Market in Dallas to do some serious tasting.

The Green Spot Chili Cookoff was a bit different as it was the world's first solar-powered chili cookoff!
Amazingly enough, the Texas sun was not cooperating that day, as it was threatening rain and some of the slow cookers lost power at intervals during the day. However... that did not dampen spirits and the chili managed to stay hot in both temperature and level of spiciness.

Green Spot is a major participant in the City of Dallas' Cease the Grease campaign. Drop off your used cooking oil at the kiosk in front of the Green Spot. The used cooking oil is being made into biodiesel and sold at the Green Spot.
