Good Golly Miss Mollie

It is amazing how our lives play out on Pbase.
For those of you who have been following the saga of Barnum and Bailey, the pugs... you realize that a month ago we lost our dear sweet Ms. Bailey Bentwhiskers, our little black pug. She suffered a cardiac arrest while having her nails trimmed at the vet's and in spite of aggressive CPR... she died. We were devastated! She was only seven years old and in good health.

We loved her dearly and there seemed to be a great void in our lives without her. Barnum was also lonely for a companion. That is what prompted me to go to Dallas-Fort Worth Pug Rescue and apply for an adoption. Then came a home inspection. Once approved we went to a Pug Rescue Meet and Greet where we found so many sweet lovable pugs awaiting adoption and a new life.

How in the world do you choose? This should not be a decision made on a whim. This is a companion for life. We brought Barnum with us as he needed to approve our decision. We went with a particular pug in mind; however, when we put them together she snapped at him and then snapped at a couple other dogs. Perhaps she was just excited or maybe she had some issues yet to be resolved. Maybe she would be better without other animals around. So we looked further and then little Mollie Sue caught our eye.

She looked like a puppy but in fact she was two years old! She was very small and her ribs were jutting out. Her little face so much reminded me of Ms. Bailey but her temperment was very laid back. She and Barnum checked each other out and seemed to approve.

The rest of the story is this... she was recently rescued from a puppy mill in Oklahoma. She was kept in a tiny cage and was being used for breeding. How many litters did she have? She is only two years old. The cages were stacked high with doggie excrement dropping from one cage into another and onto the dog/dogs below. This was how she spent the first two years of her life!

Following a veterinary check, innoculations, neutering and grooming, she was fostered by a lovely family for a little over a week until we chose to make her a part of our family... for always.

And so begins the story of Miss Mollie Sue.
Good golly Miss Mollie... welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. May it be a happy one filled with love.
You certainly deserve the best life has to offer! http://dfwpugs.com/
