This year, 2012, the Texas State Fair had a new exhibit direct for China... the Chinese Lantern Festival and what a celebration it was! The planning and execution to put this together was mind-boggling and the exhibit centered around the lagoon. Several of the pieces had to be lifted by helicopter and placed in the lagoon.

It was beautiful by day but sensational at night.

Originally it was to only be here for the State Fair of Texas, but due to it's popularity, it will be held over until the end of the year. If you live within traveling distance, it will be worth your while to check it out and for those of you who cannot make the trip, I will share some of my favorite photos.
