Fractal Paintings Gallery

The fractal form is, by itself, a thing of beauty, a visual exploration of conceptual infinity that transcends its mathematical structure and reveals the abstract art inherent to nature.

Through the addition and alteration of color, and the exploration and exploitation of texture, the fractal divulges the wonder of its inborn art, the complexity of its line and shape, and the magic of creation. In painting these images I seek not to create, but to further visually interpret that which already exists.

Both delicate and strong, the chameleon-like fractal adapts to spectrum-wide variations of hue and shade while maintaining its fundamental construction and design; the appearance of change is illusory, affecting only the outward skin of the fractal and leaving the core structure undisturbed.

The paintings in this gallery are dedicated to my brother-in-law, Joseph Luk, who in 1990 first introduced me to the visual wonder of fractals and the application of chaos theory via an early version of FractInt.
