The Road to Glenburnie

Natchez, Mississippi

Back in March, during my series of cemetery photos, I told you the story of the Goat Castle Murders, Octavia Dockery and Miss Jennie Merrill. Octavia's home of Glenwood is no longer there but Miss Jennie's home of Glenburnie is a beautiful and thriving Bed and Breakfast. This is the road that leads to the house. Every spring the road is lined with these glorious flowers from the azaleas and snowball trees. The scent is intoxicating and the birds sing the sweetest songs. :)

Wonderful capture! I can almost smell the flowers and hear the birds from here.

Okay.. now i'm going to cry. Snowball trees are my very favorite.. ever. I keep trying to find them up here in the north to plant but have only gotten small viburnum bushes :( ...This picture is magical, Sher. Has a very storybook quality to it.. beautifully done
