Hi, do you have any more photos of the royal engineer divers who worked on the Mary rose in 1982, as one of the guys posing next to the diving gear is my dad and he would like to know if you have any more. thanks

can you tell me exactly when the picture showing pre-diver checks at Marchwood REDE. It says in the 70's. This might sound strange that i cant be certin due to the dat thatis mentioned but i think the divers attendant is me i did my divers course in 1981. Do you have anymore information abouy this photo. Great photos by the way

Alan. John Cooper tells me that you hail from Bluetown, my ancestors were from there also, name of MADAMS, John seems to think you may be able to tell me things about them, and if there are any of the family still there. thanks

Hi Al. Fascinated by your photo's of Blue Town. I lived there when my parents moved from Cornwall at the age of about two. Lived in a flat in the High Street.
I attended the primary school and remember Mr Rooney as the the headmaster. He moved on to another school. We moved to Queens Parade off Queensway and I went to Westminster Primary to find Mr Rooney as the headmaster there!
My parents were Jean and Len, (also known as Rodney), Pearce. Dad's brother, Bryan, still lives on the island.

Hi Al

I just stumbled across this fine site.
Good to see you are still alive and kicking mate. Last seen you in Bosnia with the fighting 28 Engr Regt. Never have forgiven you for supplying me with that "local wine" and me mooning the upper echlon's of Sqn management.

These are wonderful pics of Bluetown....My Mum was born in bluetown..she was a Gillespie and my Grandad worked in the dockyard for years! My Mum was born in 1926 and I believe they lived in West St. and Chapel St. I was born in Minster hospital in 1946 and lived in Sheerness of and on until 1957 when we emmigrated to Canada. Does anyone remember the Gillespies I wonder?

Hi Alan, and welcome to PBase.
You've made a good start. How about posting some pics of where you're living now when you get chance.
Love the Bluetown pics as my father was brought up there and has some memories of it.
Good luck. TREV.
