Not sure which lense you think you needed, but the 100-400 ? did just fine here. Macros are great for showing every little detail, but this is really nice showing the surroundings as well. I really like how you caught the sun in the background to lighten things up but kept the butterfly in the shade to prevent the colors from getting blown out.
