New Mexico's Renewable Energy Policy is FLAWED

Two years ago, Andrea and I set out to bring on line the first privately owned, commercialy sized solar park in New Mexico. It's purpose is to generate whole sale electricity that the power company is able to buy at the same price it would cost them to generate, about 2.5 cents. In addition, our solar park would generate Renewable Energy Certificates, or REC's. REC's are also know as Green-Tag's, or carbon offsets. PNM currently buys RECs from it's customers at a rate of 15 cents, this in turn helps them to meet the states Renewable Portfolio Standard.
