July 23. Winter in Perth

Looks idyllic weather, but we usually get most of our annual rain in July.
Our farmers are desperate. They cannot sow their crops and there is very little stock feed.
Some are shooting their sheep because there is no food. At least 15,000 have been shot so far.

I'm surprised I haven't commented on this one yet... I've certainly thought about it a lot.
Australia, global warming, droughts... even Florida. All because of this image. Vote.

Looks like a beautiful summer scene... Fingers crossed
the rain will come for your farmers - and we need it here too, our grass
is shrivelled & yellow...

The earth's weather patterns are on everyone's mind.
It is sad when the climate causes us to take drastic measures.

The farmers here are worried too, no rain means no grass for the sheep and coos.
Your winter looks like the best bits of our summer!

It looks idylic but I agree with Gayle's remark a sad story behind a good picture

Let's keep on like this releasing energy in the air, trough our cars, air conditioning, buying tons of useless crap, and that will be like that all the time, with a few hurricanes, flooding, heat waves, drought... Ooops, I am loosing my control there, on my computer next to my digital camera...
BTW, nice colors and composition, Sheila!

Idyllic scene but sheep farming sounds a precarious business. Hope rain arrives soon.
