Wheat country, a few hundred miles from Perth.

I guess thats the start of the huge australian desert? Are you near the coast?
Susan Leigh07-Dec-2011 06:12
great perspective, nicely composed to the vanishing point...including the trees ;-) V

expansive here...wide open, exposed, intense and gritty...you must have had a great time roving along this wild road...V

That landscape seems to stretch as far as the eye can see.
Mairéad18-Nov-2011 00:08
Beautiful open countryside, so flat, but I think I'd miss mountains.
Maaike Huizer17-Nov-2011 09:25
Wow, so empty. Beautiful.

Wonderful shot as it draws you in...such a long straight road and so flat. Great composition. V

It looks like a long, dry road. I like the perspective on this one!

Long journey down that road...
Janice Dunn15-Nov-2011 18:34
Quoting you:
"we went for a drive into wheat country a couple of hundred miles inland from where I live"
It is nothing much for you Australians to go for long drives... And your roads are so straight and long...Whereas in NZ ours are hardly straight - many hills and curves...
Mary Terry15-Nov-2011 15:58
I love the open land and blue sky.

this is the beauty of Australia, a landscape with endless horizons and when it starts to look monotone it changes into something different

Reminds me of Kansas...without that trees! Great perspective and what huge country!
Yvonne15-Nov-2011 05:12
So much harder on the driver keeping the concentration when its so straight and flat, but a great shot Sheila!
Cindi Smith15-Nov-2011 03:35

Wonderful perspective shot looking down the line of trees and straight highway. Big land and big sky. Lovely image.

Never been to this side of Australia. Looks like the usual long straight road though. Nice composition.

Love the flatness and the road leading through the scene to the vanishing point. Beautiful photo with great depth.
