Numbats used to be widespread throughout the Australian mainland, but are now only found in far southwest Western Australia.

what a pretty creature. no wonder it's become endangered - I imagine it was being shot for its fur coat 100 years ago.

And the loss is due to the introduction of foxes here. Now since their demise the damn white ants which are there staple diet are taking over here on the eastern coast..... Lovely shot Sheila of this great little native
