A Grave Matter

A recent set subject for the competition at Camera Club was 'Graveyard'.
With Australia only having relatively young graveyards (as we know them)
there is not much in the way of fascinating antiquity like you see in Europe,
but there were a few quirky graves around.

There is something fascinating about graveyards and you have shown excellent observation and great images! Since the rise of interest in family history research these places are frequented more often and perhaps appreciated for their sad beauty as well as their ability to provide records of the departed!

A beautiful gallery, tastefully showing the lighter side of passing. I love graveyards, they evoke stories of times gone and have a calming feeling. I have spent many hours in them, reading stones and taking pics, with great respect to the departed of course. Hey, I wonder who the 'stallion' was?? hehe. Great work Sheila!
