Humpback fluke off Barrenjoey

Tasman Sea

Part of the humpback whale migration from the Antarctic to the warmer waters of northern Queensland. We are privileged that so many pass the east coast of Australia. This particular one passed under the yacht Smooth As much to the apprehension of its owner. An amazing experience for us all.

A truly magnificent capture and instantaneous composition. The light reflecting beneath the fluke is magical, as it is also off the drifting spray in the background. V
