Came across this red bellied black snake in Dorrigo National Park, about 600 ks north west of Sydney. Much less aggressive (and although still venomous) than the brown snake which I would never get this close too as its one of the most venomous in the world! He seemed content just to have its photo taken but a nearby wren was a tad nervous of its presence.
