PERSONAL NOTES: Our bus was out of Jerusalem heading on the freeway within the desert landscape of the treeless terrain, winding thru the land. This place was a no-man land, no land mark. The bus stopped off road, we walked uphill in slanted slope, once on top the terrain there was a flat top, in a circle with sitting and covered trellis, like a big fire ring. There were gypsy families with small running kids dragging on to our group and trying to sell merchandise to us, adults were at a distance of less intrusive.
There it was overlooking to the vast deserts with waves of hilly terrains into the distance, Jesus was walking here for 40 days. This sun skimmed across the landscape in January, the weather was mild with light winds, our priests set up an altar and celebrated the Eucharist; absolutely solitude spirit of 40 days and 40 nights as we found Christ here.
