The bus went across the central Italy from the East coast to the West to reach Rome through its great plains. The drive was very much uneventful, more than 4 hours through the interstate freeway, and we did not see a sizable city. The freeways were wide and well built much like in the state; the landscape was flat with some hilly terrains at a distance from the road. The landscape mostly was covered with green vegetation along the road side in the month of November in Italy.

We arrived at the distant outskirt of Rome as the sun was no longer above the horizon, the daylight was dwindling. We caught up in the rush hour of the late day, and traffic was terrible if not daring to drive in this part of the city, it seemed like no one yielding to the big bus or any cross traffic. Our bus driver was very skillful to maneuver the streets among small vehicles and scooters which came from every direction, they came close within a foot while the bus was maneuvering on the main streets. We got to the hotel about 8PM, about 20 minutes drive into the city of Rome. Shops of the town were closing at this time of the day.
