Visit ...Candle Light Procession

+

The 13th appearance, 2 March, 1958:
"Go and tell the priest to build a chapel here and to have people come in procession."

The Candle light Marian Procession takes place daily at 8.45pm. It begins outside the Grotto and follows the same route as the Blessed Sacrament Procession, out the front gate and looping back toward the front of the Basilica, the process is almost 1M long. In extreme weather an indoor ceremony may be held in the Underground Basilica instead. The procession is held every night per the request of the Lady.

Images recorded here were a typical, ordinary night during the week. The ocean of people lining up in the procession in deep devotion was very spiritual, and trembling in the land of the faithful. The perpetual "Ave...Ave Maria" echoed off the surroundings and into heaven.
Also pray for the Sick as they came here from all over the world. Their faces were wary, as the images were enlarged, but NOT Hope since God is Love, Mercy, and the Hope to the Faithfuls.

The procession is led by pilgrims bearing a replica of the Cabuchet Statue of the Virgin Mary. As before, groups usually proceed together under their group banner. Typically each participant carries a candle; these have a paper shade which diffuses the light and makes the candle less likely to blow out.

The focus of this procession is the Rosary. All five decades are recited, usually in a variety of languages. The Lourdes Hymn is also sung, with verses in different languages. Intercessions may be invoked followed by the Laudate Mariam. There is a final blessing in Latin, and then an invitation to exchange the Sign of peace with fellow pilgrims.
