The Griffith Park Observatory sits on top of the Hills by the Hollywood sign. There are a network of trails crisscrossing the hill top between the two icons of LA. The Trails are wide and well kept, and has no shades. There is a parking lot outside the Observatory, but is full on the busy traffic of weekend; however there are plenty of parallel parking along the curbs which are accessible to any of the trails.

At the top of the Griffith Park, the weather is mild and breezy in November. The view at the top view sweeps 360 around and toward LA downtown at a distance to the south, and nearby mountains to the north. Anywhere you look from the images below, there is a silhouette of the Observatory in a distance.
