The cruise ship was a floating city of ~3,000 occupants. The ship starts out from the Port of Long Beach and cruised south along the coastline of southern California and beyond, and back to her home port.
Setting out to the sea was a magnificent experience, besides the luxury of the cruise-line accommodations. The Pacific sea was calm in May, as always, and the air beyond the land was refreshing, windy and chilly at night. Outdoors decks, and top levels of the aft and bow were the best places to get out of the inner cabins.
