Day 04 of 14. Oct 8, 2007.

After leaving Fatima, Portugal, we arrived at Burgos of Spain in the afternoon. The bus went straight to the church after 5 hours plus of long 400M ride. Burgos was known to be colder than the surroundings, we could feel the chilled air when getting off the bus, everyone grabbed a jacket. The late afternoon arrival allowed us an hour to view the church and celebrated Mass per our allotted time.

It was awesome to have a Mass celebrated in this cathedral in our language, among other multitudes in the church, IMG_0041.jpg, IMG_9933.jpg. Yet we had a private mass reserved in our time slot.

The church door was closing on us after the Mass ended about 5PM, we had some weak daylight left in the sky for this month of November, and there was not much of time for the viewing, we were in a constant hurry mode. We stayed overnight at the hotel nearby, downtown of Burgos. The bus went through the routine of unloading of 2,500lb of luggage onto the narrow sidewalk while parking on the street. The mammoth of luggage thus was pushed into the narrow hotel lobby, filling it up quickly; 50lbs maximum of luggage that a person could carry through an airport. Seemed like everyone picked up more baggage from Fatima. The luggage was moved up and down the stairs with the help of the young and ables within our group. Elevator in EU could hold 5 people maximum, or in that small order, so stairways were so chosen. The Spaniards knew how to build quality marble and furnishings in our small, but very cozy room of hotel Corona de Castilla. After a quick dinner, well served inside the hotel restaurant we walked to the vincinity of the Burgos church at night from the hotel. It was cold outside, a few pedestrians were on the streets at night as we were walking around in this short trip.

The next early morning at twilight 7AM, we were on our way to Lourdes, another 300M+ drive northeast crossing the border into southern France.
