The wild dogs were denning at DumaTau while we were there. The guides knew where the den was but they were not allowed to bring the guests close to the den so as not to disturb the pups which were still very young. On our second night we had the privilege of seeing the dogs at around sundown when they went to the river to drink. The African wild dog is endangered and the majority of the remaining population lives in northern Botswana and eastern Namibia.
