I started with a blank white canvas, followed Exercise 1 of Lesson 1 to make this image. I used tonal control and also applied lighting. The vase, stems & leaves and flowers are separate layers, as are the table and background. I used different brush sizes and different colors to make the table and the background. I moved the background layer around until I got it where the other layers were on top of it and I did some clean up work with the eraser.
