Graphics Challenge #49. Did you ever want to paint and not make a mess? Nothing to
clean up and you could undo and redo what you wanted? Here's your chance, this
weeks challenge theme is Painting. Don't worry if you're not a Michelangelo, just
get out your program's painting tools or try out some painting software, and paint
us a picture! Just one rule, don't use a plugin or special effect.
I was going to try to make a painting using a tutorial from Corel Painter IX.5, but
because my computer is going in for repair I'm using an older computer that
doesn't have a paint program installed. I used PSE4 to make this image. I used the
mouse to draw the Kachina with the brush tool (default brush). I used various
brushes for the background (calligraphic brush, wet media brush), and used the
rectangular marquee to make the squares & rectangles then rotated and filled
them with colors using the paint bucket. I adjusted the hue & saturation on the
Kachina layers trying to get a kind of neon look, adjusted the hue & saturation on
the background layers to make the background a little more subdued.I don't know if there is a real Kachina Casino, but they were trying to get a casino
by that name built in Taos, New Mexico at one time.
