Fabulous!!! This reminds me of some images I saw recently by a woman photographer. I will have to see if I can track her down and point you to her images.--Rene

Searching for your next-of-kin throughout the image. Truly well done. You are a lucky person Kal.

A masterpiece. I love how there's no interaction between the four, excepted composition wise. They are together on their own, superb. V!

Very unusual way for family portrait, but tells much more, than posed traditional way with four artificial smiles.

This photos appeals me on many different levels, just visually I’m intrigued by your choice of a very contrasted black and white and the wide angle.
But I like also considering it composed of different planes, which are at once independent and interconnected.
The darkness has not any negative or gloomy meaning here, it seems to me a kind of cocoon, reassuring and protective and, at the same time open to a wide dimension, nothing like a closed limited space, but a choice , the joy to share in freedom.
And it’s obviously a sincere and meaningful tribute to your family, you are not looking at each other, but you are all looking toward the same direction.
I’m happy you are back to offer us your views.

As Phil said, the picture is about bonding and being independence. And as you said on my last picture "being close has less to do with distance and more to do with caring." I love you abstract each of you in different ways, we don't see any face but we feel the strong connection here. You take us into your family but cleverly remain it as a mystery.

An awesome social document of the contemporary family: members lead separate lives yet each obey an unspoken hierarchy. Bravo!!!

Hold these windows, these framed momentos with treasured dearness. Polish them fondly, that time may not tarnish their intimate glow. Raise them again to the light from whence they were born, and feel the cry of joy again in your heart.

Wonderful to see you back. You give us a family shot like only you can - like unwrapping a gift slowly to savor the experience, we discover each member slowly and watch their part in the family drama.

A family is a bond built on love and need and pride. Yet it also must allow for independence. This image expresses the space each member needs to be himself or herself, yet still exist as an interdependent unit. I like the way you have abstracted your own presence. You are there for them, but not there at the same time.

That feeling of wholeness and relaxation. As you capture a unique moment in the "evolution" of your family.

Ah, Kal... these are the moments most just let go by, but sometimes revel in from their seperate perch. I can see you putting down a book your reading to watch your family, smiling and then realizing it was something wonderful to photograph.
Good to have you back... (well, I hope you're back ;0)

Fresh and bright surroundings. This looks like a wonderful place with the four of you making the most of it! At this moment as you sit and make this reflection, everyone is on their own and busy but they're all very much together in your gaze. Hope your times have been fine kal.
