Kal this is another bloody brilliant shot..... made even moreso by your caption.
"Oh God, here she comes.... I will pretend, like a cat...not to notice her......here I am! here I am !! :-) KMc

Someone and something had just arrived, was that what he's waiting for? Mystery in the air... :-) While your shot is certainly story-telling and cinematic, I kept pondering over your title. An open gate, possibly with people waiting, arriving and departing everyday, and with opportunities to meet, exchange or even trade. Are these people and opportunities your "ships"?

Cinematic, yes... wonderful, love the contrast with the almost white background and the dark foreground.

Very, very cinematic. Bravo.

Fantastic Kal the feeling of being totally unaware of each other is wonderful

Get the feeling suddenly it will all happen. She will slip on the mat, he will drop his reading, and reach out for her.Another great moment captured Kal.

why is it that if I do this, the image is only half as interesting?
Oh, I've got it: cleanliness!
Thanks for always looking at my pictures. I've learned a lot from you in the past year.

It seems like two totally different worlds are about to collide.. What will happen then?
The left side of the photo is my favourite... :D Just kidding.. but well it's true, I just love the way in which the man's shadow seems to be detaching itself from him.

Yes, like a scene from a movie. Technically, welll done - a challenging situation with the strong contrasts of light and dark.

"the hummingbird is in the strudel" he whispered as she walked by.
Just once, she sighed as she moved along without acknowledging him, I'd like to meet a man who wasn't an agent operative.
