I agree with others who spoke about theater. Wonderful, just wonderful.

Phil took the words out of my mouth. It looks like a theater stage with a prop set. All life is a stage, eh. Great stuff.

Phil, as usual, has great insight. The other intersting thing for me about this image is the lack of interaction among the "actors" on your "stage." So amazing that these people are sitting so close, yet they don't even see each other.

Your images are becoming more and more theatrical, Kal. I feel as if I am looking at a stage, and all of these people are actors, each in their own place, at their own level, and doing what they do in their own lives. You are the director of the play -- and your goal is to reveal a cross section of life. What is astounding of course, is that none of this is posed or arranged. You bring the eye of a theatrical director to life as you find it on the streets of Shanghai, and structure reality as you would have structured fiction on the stage.

Outstanding daily life scene!

Very very well seen and thought. Each level with its own character, action and direction. There would be a point where all lives move and meet on the same level :-)

"The cooker, the customers and the dilettante..."
Once again, a great 'mise en scene', Kal. Congrats!;).
