The light on the hand... like a caress of light.
Bravo, Kal. This image is very moving.

I am a loss for words. Alem, Ana, Lawrence and Ai Li have already analyzed this image very much as I would have. In fact, Ai Li is starting to even sound like Phil Douglis, isn't she? An image such as this one is the mark of a mature photographer who has great respect for the viewer's imagination and intelligence. There are many photographers out there would think this is a badly under exposed picture. A shame. Its strength, as Ai Li as noted, is in the interplay between that hand and the rest of him. It is all about labor, and the patch of light is in exactly the right spot.

See the light, Shoot the light. A great ping! Just the little patch of light is enough to create tension and tell a fuller story. Power of less is more. Excellent!

Very nice shot Kal. That splash of light is like a gift. Amazing that the moment caught in time, for both you and your subject who is captivated

Another very interesting image on account of the way you used the shadow to abstract the worker.. What I like the most is the way that little pool of light is falling on the hand, creating an amazing focal point in the photo.
Great capture Kal.

oh... I can see it... caught it and frozen to stress what this image is all about: work, tireness, acceptance, patience, constance and hope...

thanks a lot, of course... !
