I think Ana summed it up for me nicely. A case in point where bigger is not always better. KMc

Ah... I am in love with this one.... Tunneling the eyes towards the one sees so much... Excellent shot. Minimalistic in its display, but grand in its meaning.

Simple, but interesting...

Now this really needs a lot of votes. Utterly original and creative, Kal.

Hi Kal, thanks for the vision. Looking out of the darkness into the light. Do we take a narrow view or look at the bigger picture? Very provoking as always. Voted.

A portrait of all of us. We are born in darkness, and in the end, darkness comes to us once more. I am struck by the power of incongruent scale and contrast here. If you read the picture as being boxed in, you need the whole body, but if you read it as I do --a metaphor for where we come from and where we will eventually wind up -- the detail on the man is not as important. What I like most about this image is the range of thought it provokes. You gave us much food for thought here, Kal.

No dark without light, no light without dark - the world is very well balanced - right Kali?

May be the light is very small here - but what a power in it! Outstanding composition!

Thanks Peter, this is how he was, and I know exactly what you mean, there would be that sense of being boxed in....Thanks K

Nobody can claim that this image is not innovative, and that in itself is a difficult to achieve, very interesting, with all that black space we can add our own interpretation. I would prefer his feet not be be cut off, not from the typical point of view where the feet have to be there, but having just a bit more space around him would create even more visual impact of isolation.

This brings all sorts of interpretations for me, Kal. My first thought was of loneliness, a type of forlorn solitude. Then, reading your response to Ray, a tunnel of darkness ending in the light of optimism. Or maybe for the spiritual, the knowledge that we often feel so alone in our world but take comfort in the thought there is an ever presence watching over.

There is light at the end, but that is the point, isn't it?
